Cryopumps are gas entrapment vacuum pumps for the pressure range from 10E-3 to less than or equal to 10E-11 mbar. The principle of operation is that gaseous substances are bound to the cold surfaces within the pump by means of cryo-condensation, cryosorption or cryotrapping.
